Appraiser mentoring.

You learn the theory on the course. What is missing afterwards is the practice: your first inspection alone, the first claim an insurer cuts, the first wording that has to hold up in court. That is exactly where we come in.

Who it is for

For anyone who genuinely intends to take the step.

The route to working independently as a vehicle appraiser is demanding both technically and commercially. Courses convey the foundations – calculation systems, valuation methods, the legal framework. What they cannot convey is how to handle a real case: the contradictory damage pattern, the claims handler who deletes items, the solicitor who needs wording that will hold.

Our mentoring is aimed at people entering the profession after certification, at master technicians planning the step into self-employment, and at appraisers already in practice who want to widen what they offer – to electric vehicles, classics or motorhomes, for instance.

We work on real cases, not worked examples. You come with us to inspections, we go through your reports together, and we discuss specifically what you should word, document or calculate differently.

One to one, not a lecture

Individual supervision at your pace and on your cases – no fixed curriculum, no group sessions.

From inspection to settlement

Recording the damage, photographic documentation, calculation, wording and pressing the claim home with the insurer.

Building your own practice

Positioning, pricing, a network of workshops and solicitors – and the question of which instructions are better declined.

What we work on together.

We set the priorities together, according to where you are and where you want to go. Whether you want to go deeper on particular topics or be accompanied the whole way is your decision – we follow it.

  • Recording damage on site: method, sequence, the usual mistakes
  • Photographic documentation that can actually be used – including in a dispute
  • Calculation in DAT and Audatex, and handling earlier and pre-existing damage
  • Valuation: replacement value, residual value, merkantile Wertminderung
  • Report structure and wording that carries weight in court
  • Handling insurers' reduction letters and review reports
  • The particulars of electric vehicles, classics and motorhomes
  • Working with solicitors, workshops and dealerships

How it works

How the supervision runs.

No package price, no standard programme. We look first at what you actually need.

01

Getting to know each other

A free first conversation: where you stand, what you are aiming at, what is still open.

02

The plan

We settle the priorities, the scope and the rhythm – from single sessions to longer supervision.

03

Practice

Inspections together, case discussions and a review of your reports.

04

On your own

You work independently – with someone to call on for the difficult case.

To be clear

What we are not.

We are not a certification body and not a training provider. The formal qualification – personal certification to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17024, for example – is obtained from a recognised body. Our mentoring begins after that, or runs alongside it.

Nor do we promise a shortcut. Anyone who wants to write robust reports needs cases, mistakes and feedback. What we offer is the feedback – and the experience to keep the mistakes from being made at your expense.

Frequently asked questions

Good to know.

Do I need a prior qualification?
A technical grounding should be there – a master motor vehicle technician's qualification, a technician's or engineering qualification or something comparable. You can obtain the formal certification alongside; for the practical part it is not a precondition.
Does the mentoring take place in person?
Both are possible. Inspections and case supervision make most sense in person in the Rottweil region. Reviewing reports and discussing cases works well by video call with screen sharing.
How much time should I set aside?
That depends on your objective. Some people book individual sessions on particular questions, others take supervision over several months. We settle that together in the first conversation.
What does the mentoring cost?
That depends on the scope and the format. The first conversation is free and without obligation – after it you receive a transparent quotation with no commitment.
